Aldi has restocked its sell-out air fryer - YOU Magazine

Air fryers have had a huge amount of airtime over the past few years; as well as a gaggle of celebrities (including Drew Barrymore and Oprah) saying that they now swear by them, households up and down the country have been converted to the healthier, easier, way of cooking. In fact, you needn’t travel far to overhear someone telling their neighbour about the new recipe they discovered with their air fryer or explaining how it has revolutionised cooking for the family.

We’re not mocking, because finding ways to make delicious food healthier, and easier to create, is nothing to be sniffed at. Air fryers work by using hot air circulated around the machine to cook food, whether its chips, meat, fish, vegetables, cookies and even cakes, using as little as a teaspoon of oil. Sounds amazing, right?

In fact, the only issue we often have with the air fryers is that they can be pretty costly (most start at around £100) and, if you’ve got a smaller kitchen, can take up quite a lot of space, which is already at a premium.

Which is why it was music to our ears when Aldi threw their own version into the mix as part of their affordable Specialbuy range, and released the Ambiano compact air fryer . And it seems we weren’t the only ones who were excited, as the kitchen gadget sold out pretty sharpish.

Ambiano compact air fryer, £29.99, Aldi

Luckily, the supermarket heard our low-fat frying prayers and the Ambiano compact air fryer is back in stock once again, priced at just £29.99, a fraction of the cost of a similar unit from a high-end kitchen appliance brand.

It’s been given a sleek new upgrade for 2022 and now comes in black as well as white, meaning it’s an aesthetic addition to your kitchen space as well as a useful one. It takes up little room and promises to reduce the fat in your meal by as much as 80 per cent. Plus, it includes seven cooking presets, a 30-minute timer and an adjustable cooking temperature of up to 200 degrees, and can easily be chucked (gently) into the dishwasher after use.

You’ll need to be quick though, as the Aldi Specialbuys range is probably the worst kept supermarket secret of the last few years and shoppers are already leaving their rave reviews on the product.

‘Love this machine, use it everyday. I have used 3 air fryers, this the best. You don’t have to preheat when using this one and there is plenty of space in the pan,’ wrote one, while another added: ‘ Easy to use so very little if any oil. Does great bacon crispy! Chicken breasts succulent and chips very nice. That’s all I have tried so far. Quick to clean too…’
