How good is Micah Parsons?
If the 13 sacks as a rookie, and the two sacks of Tom Brady Sunday to start the season didn’t tip you off to the fact that the guy is absolutely elite, consider thatt even former Philadelphia Eagles stars are going out of their way to tell the world — or at least one game maker — that the Dallas Cowboys linebacker is pretty, darned special.
And it all boils down to a beef.
But this isn’t the Parsons vs. Big Lenny chip block beef that The Iron Sheik waded into following Sunday’s game. This is video-game rating beef, and that can be serious stuff.
The backstory is simple enough.
EA Sports’ Madden 23 video game — THE football video game — featured Parsons in much of its promotional commercials leading up to its recent drop. What it didn’t do, at least in Parsons’ opinion, is give him an accurate rating. For a guy who grew up playing the game, that is serious business, so Parsons cut a video Tuesday asking fans to call the video game maker’s hotline and request EA Sports fix his man zone coverage.

Well, former Eagles defensive end saw that, and he called the hotline and posted video from his “Green Light” podcast of it on Twitter.
“Sorry @Eagles fans,” Long wrote in the caption. “I had to go to bat for the enemy on this one.”
Long then posted the clip of him closing out his show by making the call to the hotline. Long explains who he is, and that he was once rated a 90 in the game.
“I could never do anything that Micah Parsons could do,” he says to an answer machine. “You guys are a bunch of idiots, honestly. I used to play for the Eagles. I’m not even a Cowboys fan. In fact, I kind of hate them. He’s just like 10 points better than anybody on that team.”
Long said he saw some of the other ratings and asks “what are you guys smoking over there.”
“You guys need to fix some (crap),” he continued. “I wasn’t going to call you about anything else, but, I mean, Micah Parsons is an alien. Ankle flexion ever heard of it? The guy can run six inches off the ground.”
Another former Eagle, Beau Allen, then joked, “His chip awareness is like a 45, though,” in reference to the post-Sunday night Parsons-Big Lenny beef.
“OK, Beau,” Long says. “We want to have Micah Parsons on this show one day.”
