Home News JACKSON COUNTY RESTAURANT INSPECTIONS — BLUE SPRINGS April 21, 2022 in News The Jackson County Environmental Health Division inspects sites where food is served outside Independence and Kansas City. Recent inspection results in Blue Springs are as follows: El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant: 1867 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 28. Reinspection due to previous violations. • Observed dented cans on shelf. Corrected; cans were discarded. • Observed dirty knives stored on knife holder. Corrected; knives were removed and cleaned on site. • Observed accumulation of buildup in microwave. Corrected; cleaned on site. Texas Roadhouse: 455 N.E. Coronado Drive, inspected March 29. • Dishwasher machine was not reaching 106 degrees F. Employee was running dishes through the machine. Manager stated that the heat element was not working and that it had been ordered. Manager stated that they would sanitize in the three-compartment sink. Employee at the time was not using the threecompartment sink. Reinspection will be done on Apil 8. A fee of $105 will be due at the time of the reinspection. • Noticed several plastic containers with sticky residue from date labels. Pancho’s Mexican Food: 802 S.W. U.S. 40, inspected March 29. • Observed a live mouse under the ice machine. Signs of mouse droppings were found under the ice machine and under the reach-in cooler by the mop sink. • Insulation by the back door has been torn and messed with the by rodents. Reinspection required. • Sonic Drive-In: 2323 N.W. Missouri 7, inspected March 30. • Nozzles on the lemonade dispenser and cold brew had a black buildup. Corrected on site. • Walls inside the ice machine had a black buildup inside. Corrected on site; employee cleaned the ice machine. • Handwashing sink in the front area, drain pipe was touching the floor and the water was pooling on the floor. • Tokyo Grill: 617 U.S. 40, inspected March 30. • Observed a few containers of ready-to-eat foods and prepared foods in the walk-in and reach-in coolers. Corrected; all food items were marked with correct dates. Cosentino’s Price Chopper: 1101 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected April 4. • The presence of two birds was found on the ceiling rafters by the meat and seafood area. Reinspection required. Elks Lodge: 100 N.E. Brizendine Road, inspected April 5. • Observed dented can on shelf. Corrected; can was discarded. Legend of Asia: 1853 S.W. Missouri 7, inspected April 8. • Observed sushi rice not marked with time control. Corrected; establishment had only been open for 30 minutes and manager stated rice was placed out at 11 a.m. Rice was marked with correct time control. Inspector educated the importance of time control to manage. • Observed refrigerated and prepared foods without date marks in the walk-in cooler. Corrected; food was marked with correct dates. • Observed raw chicken stored above ready-to-eat foods. Corrected; chicken was moved to the bottom shelf. China Town Cafe: 756 S.W. U.S. 40, inspected April 11. • Observed no dates on prepared and ready-to-eat foods in the walk-in cooler. Corrected; all items marked with correct dates.
